Simplify the complex.

I help growing businesses fix the things that aren't working.

Broken processes. Disconnected systems. Manual workarounds. Marketing that isn't producing. Information nobody can find. Teams doing things the hard way because that's how it's always been done.

Sometimes the answer is strategy. Sometimes it's a better process. Sometimes it's technology. Sometimes I build the solution.

You don't need to know what the solution is before we talk.

Chris Turner

Hi, I'm Chris.

I've spent more than 25 years working inside businesses — solving problems across marketing, sales, operations, technology, and growth. I don't come in with a predetermined solution. I start by understanding what's actually getting in the way.

When you get in touch, you're talking to me — there's no sales team, account manager, or handoff.

What are you trying to figure out?

Tell me what you're working on, what's not working, or even just the idea that's been sitting in your head. You don't need to know what kind of help you need yet.

Work I've done

Here's what that looks like in practice.

Software · Application Development

Custom Application Development

The problem

Many businesses have processes running through spreadsheets and email that could be better served by a real application — but traditional software development is slow and expensive, and the people who understand the workflow aren't usually the ones who can build the software.

What I did

Functional applications including expense tracking software, project management software, and personal finance software — built quickly using Base44, and shaped by thinking through the full scenario each app needs to support.

The result

Working applications that fit real workflows, built in a fraction of the time traditional development would require.

Business Data and Catalog Project

The problem

Once the project began, it became clear that the larger problem was the company's product information. The underlying data was outdated, inconsistent, and difficult to use. The catalog was just the visible symptom.

What I did

Clean, consistent product data and improved processes for maintaining it — which made the catalog possible and solved a broader business problem.

The result

The company ended up with usable product data and a better way of working with it, solving a problem that had been hiding behind what originally appeared to be a design project.

TriMark USA CRM Evaluation

The problem

A CRM selection based only on feature comparison would miss whether the system actually fit how the team worked. The real question wasn't 'which CRM has the most features' but 'which CRM fits how our salespeople and managers actually operate.'

What I did

A CRM evaluation grounded in the real workflow of the sales organization, with a clear recommendation and a plan for training and adoption.

The result

TriMark moved forward with a CRM direction that fit how their team actually worked, supported by a training and adoption plan.

Why me

I've worked inside businesses, not just advised them.

More than 25 years of hands-on work — mostly from inside the companies I worked for. I've sat in the sales seat, the operations seat, and the leadership seat. That's usually why I spot the real problem faster.

Marketing leadership

Regional and national marketing at Sysco, including promotional programs tied to roughly $49 billion in company revenue.

Sales and business development

Field sales and channel programs, including a broker and vendor performance program tied to about $8 million in incremental sales.

Operations and process improvement

Designed goal and performance systems used across 189 salespeople and 18 partner organizations.

Technology and custom applications

Builds working applications for real workflows — from expense tracking to cooperative logistics and warehouse performance.

How I work

I don't start with a service. I start with your problem.

01

I start with the problem

Not a service. I ask how the work actually happens, where it breaks down, and what you're really trying to accomplish — one or two questions at a time.

02

You get a plain-English brief

A Project Fit Brief that restates your situation, points at where I can help, and pulls in similar work I've done. No contact info required to see it.

03

We decide the next step

Sometimes it's strategy, sometimes a process change, sometimes technology, sometimes something I build. If I'm not the right person, I'll say so.
